Trailside Cabins & Motel

The staff, Sue and Mark, are incredibly gracious, personable, and professional. My mom has stayed here several times over several years and it's always been a great experience. Interactions with Sue and Mark are always there with a smile and make the experience feel that much more like a home. Cabins are in walking distance of the campground and a short bike ride/drive from town as well. 10/10 would recommend staying here

Our family used to stay in Grand Marais way back in the 70's at a quaint old hotel right on the water, that was nicely priced. It burned to the ground and was replaced with an upscale hotel. I called for a room there first, but when informed that a studio room with a murphy bed was over $300 per night, I told them no way.|So I checked out other options, and finally decided to try this place. Glad I did! |First, after I called, I noticed that they usually require at least a two day stay or more, and so I apologized, telling them that I was staying only one night and didn't see that requirement right away, but they let me stay one night anyway. Thank you.|Pricing was incredibly good-$122+tax. Excellent price, since it was just up the hill from Grand Marais proper. So it wasn't on the

Staff friendly and informative. Our cabin while old was clean and had everything we needed. We had a very good sleep. Highly recommend a stay here.

I don't know where to start. I dropped my phone and the keys to my 4Runner someplace back on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail on our bicycling-way to Trailside Cabin's. For the following several hours, Shandi and her husband John, helped me find all kinds of ways to solve both problems ... being a US citizen in Canada makes getting something like a replacement key created for my locked 4Runner extremely expensive and time-consuming (easily days including towing my 4Runner about 60-miles). While everyone in my group had phones, the only phone that would work at that Canadian location was Shandi's only phone ... their business phone. She stayed on the phone trying everything we could think of to try to get help. John came home from his fulltime other job and did everything he could. He then got

Stayed in cabin 4, the week before Memorial Day. This has to be the cleanest cabin I have ever stayed in. Cabin was not large, but had two bedrooms and a kitchenette. Great shower. Heat works well. If you are looking for an older, charming cabin, book here. I have stayed in G.M. about a dozen times. I would definitely stay here again. Note- For an interesting, not too difficult, hike, take the Lake Trail.
