Borderland Lodge

We had a bigger group 10 of us including 6 adults 3 children and 1 infant, we called for reservations, 7/25/25 so happy that were able to squeeze us in. Great views, wonderful and knowledgeable and attentive staff. Food was outstanding so fresh and delicious from the appetizer to dinner, so much so that we asked to see the owner to let her know in person, she came out and everyone was able to speak to her and rave about the food. She was very pleasant and gave us some history of their journey. Highly recommend and will see you next year! Thanks for being so welcoming and wonderful!

My favorite place on Earth! I can't say enough good things about this small but mighty lodge on the Gunflint Trail. I truly could not have dreamed of a better place to host our intimate wedding. The cabins and lodge bring the camp feel while being pristine and equipped with luxury bedding. The food I'll probably never shut up about - homemade and seriously delicious. The thought in the smallest details - like fresh-cut wildflowers on the tables each day. The location is a dream with incredible lake views and wildlife sightings. Our guests enjoyed use of all the amenities like fishing boat rentals, canoe and kayak paddles, and books from the lodge. The best thing about Borderland Lodge though is the owners. The heart and dedication they have for their lodge shows in every nook and cranny. S

We had the most wonderful time at Borderland Lodge. Steph was very helpful in suggesting where to hike. We stayed 3 nights in the Cross River Suite. The bed was so comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. We ate both meals on Friday and Saturday evening at the lodge and the wild rice mushroom burger was so good that I had to have it 2 nights in a row! Wait staff was great. We loved being able to canoe around Gunflint Lake and enjoyed the Gunflint Lodge for dinner when it wasn't available at Borderland. Be sure to wear the net around your head when you go hiking. They saved us from the bugs. All in all it was a special weekend and we would highly recommend Borderland Lodge.

Where can I begin…..we love Borderland Lodge!!! |Recently completed our third year in a row staying there and dining there. ||To start the food is amazing!!! We had the wild rice burger, the risotto and the beef sammie. All were absolutely delicious and getting to enjoy it in the beautiful porch (get to enjoy the weather without the bugs) is the best. |We didn’t have the homemade ice cream this visit but have had it in the past and it’s worth adding the yummy calories. ||We always travel here with friends and other the years have stayed in or hung out in 4 of the cabins. All are very clean, have everything you could need, have their own unique views of the lake and grounds, and the beds are really comfortable. We happen upon this sweet place and enjoyed drinks, one evening and dinner the next. The service was very friendly and really outstanding, the food and drinks were very good, and we wish we had stayed at the lodge itself after taking a look at the accommodations. We will be back.
