Loon Lake Lodge

The lodge is in an incredible location with so much to do around it. It's a great place for a family, a couple, or even a solo vacation. The cabins are well-kept, as is the property, and the owners/operators are super people. They were very welcoming and responsive, and the communication was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Loon Lake Lodge provided our family with the perfect vacation on the Gunflint trail. The Shack was clean, comfortable, quiet and had spectacular views. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Their boat rentals were brand new and very affordable. Make sure to get their homemade pizzas and ice cream sandwiches - delicious! We will be back!

Nestled in the middle of the gunflint trail, this family owned + operated truly is an exceptional north woods experience. Perfect for a getaway day of boating, hiking, fishing, and canoeing. We especially adored the canoe-hike-bridal falls adventure. Honestly, a must do!! Maybe one day we’ll return to stay in the log homes.

The Hofeldt’s provided us with an excellent stay. They were always available to share information on how to best experience Loon Lake and the surrounding area. Rental fishing boats were top notch!

We stayed in one of the authentic century old log cabins and it was grand, This is the fifth spring we have spent with them at the lodge and plan to keep coming back. We paddled Loon, Iron, Aspen and Mayhew lakes, hiked Blueberry Hill, Bridal Veil Falls and Magnetic Rock trails and shared in the annual pancake breakfast at Mengyn Camp. Everything is within a few minutes of the Lodge. And then come back to beautiful views from the deck and dock on Loon. Great hosts and always try their ice cream sandwiches. ||And the young moose swimming by the dock was the bonus!
