Trails End Campground

One of the best campgrounds on the gunflint trail! Each site has a great location on the water parched above for amazing views. Plenty of beautiful hikes and lakes to explore in the area. The star gazing is top tier. The trash and bathroom areas are well maintained. Like most campsites on the gunflint trail - no cell service and very remote locations for the perfect getaway from everyday busy life.

We spent two nights at Trails End at Sites 12 & 22. The camp and the area are sheer unspoiled beauty in nature. Our first night in, we followed a trail that starts near Site 13 down to the rocks at the end. From there we watched beavers swimming in and out of their dam and loons gliding across the water. We stayed out there until nearly sunset, simply stunning. During our second day, we checked out the other campsites to see which had the best views...for our next trip. Some are walk-in only and first-come (you can probably find that info on the website). It's so quiet and peaceful. You don't hear any traffic, or planes or—anything...just the sounds of leaves rustling in the wind, the calls of the loons and the songbirds. Trails End campground is a rustic campground at the end of the Gunflint Trail. Its well kept, and scenic. The sites are pretty quiet and remote.

Great camp ground! Super quiet with amazing views. Definitely a rustic campground, but the potable water was great and always nice and cool. From our site you could hear the rapids and that was amazing to listen to at night.

Outstanding sites for tenting and small campers. Perfect dark skies for stargazing and you can cast for walleye right from some of the sites. We saw moose, fox, and beautiful scenery on the drive up the gunflint trail; worth visiting the nearby museum and nature center!
