Sonesta ES Suites Chicago - Schaumburg

This Hotel/ Suite was perfect.! Clean room, no smell, functional kitchen, and great TVs. Office staff was great from check in to check out. Needed additional coffee and towels went to front and received with no issue. Very nice would stay here again.

My boyfriend chose this hotel as we had stayed here often many years ago, believing it to be the place we loved. We quickly found out it was no longer that place. The first room assigned was on the ground floor but had a serious musty odor, we declined this room and was given a room on a 2nd floor. The next morning we asked for a ground floor room as my 71 year old boyfriend and I being a disabled veteran with difficulty walking had problems climbing the 13 stairs to our room, as we were also staying 5 nights and 6 days. We were then given the nasty urine stained carpet room by the general manager and front desk worker who knew this room was not fit to rent. Positive: Location is central Negative: Furniture is old/ broken. Headboard of the bed had material coming out. Place is infested with Roaches, spiders. Constant odor despite keeping the window open. I regret the moment I had paid for this place. Breakfast is horrible.

Stayed at this particular hotel many times over the last few years and had great experiences which is why we came back. Unfortunately, the hotel has gotten much dirtier from what I remembered and the service has gotten much worse. The staff are too hardstuck in the "policies" they set for themselves and refuse to compromise to what the customer needs. We had a problem where the room above us was being incredibly loud. We asked the staff to take care of it or to switch our rooms, but there was no change, even after we went to the front desk 3 times and an hour had passed. They refused to switch our rooms citing various reasons that I found to be ridiculous. Eventually, they had to get the police involved to resolve the noise problem. The location is nice however, this specific hotel was very dirty. The bed sheets, curtains, walls and chairs were stained. The garbage from the last guest was still in our room. Including inappropriate adult wrappers. It was uncomfortable for me and my family to relax on our VACATION!! The front desk said the room is only clean once a month. I debated reviewing this cause our trip was a minute ago. But looking at the recent reviews and seeing this hotel still hasn’t improved their cleanliness. I hope this saves someone disappointment.
