Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel

We have stayed at this hotel 2x in the span of one month. Both times we had to have maintenance come for shower issues. First one, we had no hot water. This time, the shower/tub would not drain. The first time we stayed, the room was great. Oversized and VERY clean. This time around, the room was dirty. I found a used q-tip under the edge of our bed on the floor. I also found tums on the floor under the edge of the bed. The bathroom was dirty. The floor still had hair on it from the previous guests. The top of the toilet was filthy. While it is super convenient to stay for cheer comps, for the price of the stay, I expect better.

Positive: This was an amazing building and room. The comforter and pillows were so lush and comfortable. There was a TV in the mirror of the bathroom! The decor was unique but everything felt premium. Staff around the hotel were so friendly and helpful. Negative: We checked in very late. The check-in was great but the bar/restaurants were all closed after midnight. :)

Having stayed at the Renaissance on several occasions, I reserved a room online in February 2025 via the Renaissance system, for October 2025. I received a return email confirming the reservation.||Upom arrival I was advised by the two reception staff that I did not have a reservation in their system. They asked for proof of the booking so I presented a copy of the reservation acknowledgement. I was told that the email did not have a relevant booking number. End of conversation - I was then told there were no rooms available in the hotel. I asked if they would help with booking an alternative hotel - the response was that there are several hotels in Schaumberg.||Whilst issues and problems will develop, I had expected some help from the reception staff. We the Pinball Sisters attended the 2025 Pinball Expo and we had the best experience 4 years in a roll!! Everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant staff were top notch! We were taken such good care of by Albert the shuttle driver. He was AMAZING! He was such a pleasure to be around, so personable and happy & made many suggestions for places to eat & picked us up when we asked him too! This service is unbeatable! I have stayed at this hotel many times. Every year we do our annual convention here and I have visited at least 6 times. Great property. Large convention hotel. Rooms are spacious and well designed. The Ballrooms are the best in the industry and staffs makes it even better. Food at the events are thoughtfully made and displayed.
