Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago Schaumburg by IHG

Horrible!!!! Don’t waste your money!! My husband and I stayed here last Friday for a work event. The room was clean but it was absolutely freezing in there and below zero with wind chills outside. You cannot turn the heat up at the thermostat and I’m guessing it’s controlled at the front desk because I called and the “manager” who was middle eastern said he “reset the system” so try it again in a few minutes. Did not work and we froze all night with the one thin blanket because they had no other blankets. The pillows were not only flat once you laid on them and horrible but they smelled like a stinky head. I called down for more pillows and they only had ONE pillow on site which she brought up but it also smelled the same. Also when I got up to go to bathroom in the night it was SO cold in

Stayed for a single night while in the area for business. The hotel is close to I-290 in a business / office sort of area. Very clean and quiet with a large mall and many restaurants a short drive away: nothing is really walkable.||As others have mentioned, this property is newer and is still shiny and brand new. It is clean, modern and very quiet as well. As everything is new, everything worked well: hot water (large walk in shower), large TV, good wifi, power outlets everywhere, firm comfortable bed, etc. Everything you could ask for in a hotel.||Pricing was very reasonable as well. I will definitely stay here again if back in Schaumburg.

It was a nice place, clean room, standard/acceptable breakfast. Neat that they had a putting green to use, and lawn chess. I do have to admit the trade off of being next to the interstate is the noise. It affected sleeping (I travel a lot for work and this was exceptional). Had to leave TV on all night to try to drown it out. Side note, if you book with a third party (like my company does), you will be billed an extra $3 a night after checking out on the card used at check in. This was not explained at check in, but evidently was part of all the stuff agreed to when checking in. Had I known this while there, I would've gotten a receipt and my company would've paid for it, no big deal. Instead, I noticed it on my personal card later on. I loved the electric charging stations for my SUV. The bathrooms and rooms were very clean and modern. The location is stashed away and quiet from the bustle of the main roads, I really liked that. I was pleased with the bed, microwave and nice fridge. I would come back and tell others to stay here for a visit. The room had excellent accomodations for charging devices (tablets, phone, laptop).
