Russell's Cottages

If you are looking for something shabby chic, northern rustic or with lots of amenities, this isn't the place for you. If you want a clean, functional place with a great deck where you can see Lake Superior and Grand Marais' Artist Point and that has the best water pressure ever in the shower, make your reservation now! Great location to walk into Grand Marais for coffee at the Java Moose, donuts at the donut place at the edge of town, or down to the water for dinner at the Angry Trout.

Our stay at Russell's Cottages was outstanding. We enjoyed the well appointed cottage with its authentic log cabin design and a cozy fireplace that provides warmth and a romantic atmosphere. It was a wonderful place to retire to after a day enjoying Grand Marais and nature's spectacular sights. And we couldn't hope to meet a nicer family of owners and their helpers to keep everything tidy and in good shape. We hope to return and repeat again, and again.

we 💗 Russell's Cottages -- such a gem! We have stayed there the past 2 summers and enjoy the Coastal beach house/Beata Heuman aesthetic, stellar views from the deck (many books have been read and coffees have been sipped here) and convenient location (I walk down to Fisherman's Daughter every day I'm there, to pick up dip and snacks!) Essentially everything in downtown GM is walkable from here and Julie and her family are great communicators with any questions/requests. Thanks for always making our trip to the north shore so memorable!

A+. This is an absolute gem in Grand Marais. You are within a 15-20 minute walking distance of everything in town. Place was clean. The space heater/water heater was incredibly effecient (better than home). View was beautiful from "house" #1. Price unbeatable. I will surely be returning here when I visit again.

Can't say enough about these kind people! We stayed in the big house and it was beyond lovely! Walking distance to both the art colony and folk art school. The balcony off the bedroom was a fun way to begin and end your day.
