Red Roof Inn Richmond - Airport/ Sandston

I don't know where to start with this place. It's one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The rooms are dirty they clearly don't clean them. Half the stuff in the room doesn't work or is broken. They want you to pay a deposit. But for what the bugs in the rooms ? This location has terrible employees, The heavier set Indian guy is very rude and makes check-in unbearable. I'm still waiting on getting my last deposit back. When I checked out there was nothing wrong with the room. Other than what was wrong with it when I checked in. I promise you don't stay here and waste your money.

When I got there early in the morning, I was told I was a bit too early as check in was at three pm. I explained that I had been traveling since two am and that I had a funeral to attend at eleven. the attendant, Laura was wonderful, and allowed up a temporary room to freshen up and also loaned us an iron to press out our suits for the funeral. I appreciated the warm gesture and applauded her for that. |The new room assigned was ok. It was clean, but in all honesty, the bed was hard, and the pillows lumpy. I booked this place without checking the reviews and I am happy I did because I just went with the flow. Disappointing. Nonsmoking room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke - I assume from out of doors seeping in. Bedding quality was poor, pillows were small and lumpy, walls/doors are thin (we could hear neighbors conversations clearly all through the night, ALL night). We waited 15 minutes in an empty office area for a front desk clerk to return to the hotel when we arrived for check in, but that went smoothly once he arrived. Locating & accessing our room was easy, and we could easily park nearby. Safety is questionable. Lots of warnings about securing belongings and looking doors, and heavy front floodlighting across whole building presumably for safety, but hampered darkness in room for sleep. Front desk staff are rude. I booked a medical guarantee 1st floor room which I have done for the past 2 weeks of this trip. I show up and they try to put me on the 2nd floor with no elevator and my Son is in a wheelchair. They could not give a single care. Just got nasty about how it ain't her fault. No accommodation, no sorry just expect me to hop my kid and his wheelchair up to the 2nd floor. I have to be to work in 30 minutes and got nowhere to stay. Place looked nasty anyways

Great price. Wonderful staff. We stayed here several months ago and returned last weekend. This is an old hotel with remodeled rooms. The last time when we went to shower at night, the shower was broken; gentleman at the front desk came up and since it could not be fixed gave us the room next door. No fuss, no problem. This time we checked the room out first. The toilet didn’t seem to flush correctly so, again the nice gentleman at the front desk gave us another room. It was upstairs, no elevator, no problem for us. The room is spacious and clean. Refrigerator and microwave. No dresser so no drawers in this room. I put my suitcase in the area under the microwave. Hung my clothes and put other clothes on the shelf in the closet. There is a desk with a nice chair. For you fussy
