Hampton Inn Richmond - Airport

Overall pleasant stay. The room was clean. I will say though that when you walk into the lobby there is an odd almost old/musty scent. The first morning that I came down for coffee I noticed that the floor around the coffee area was sticky and the coffee area itself was dirty and not kept up. The same goes for the 2nd morning. Both mornings we came down for breakfast and the seating area didnt seem clean either. There waa one table that was dirty and sticky morning one and still that way morning two. The breakfast area was fairly clean and the selection was great. The cleanliness game definitely needs to be stepped up.

I should have read the reviews first! I booked one night, and used digital check-in through my app. The room was absolutely tiny, nothing like the pictures; the bed took up most of the space. The A/C had been off for quite a while and the room had an overwhelming smell. I went to the desk to ask for a room change, and the desk clerk literally *glared* at me and8 said 'we don't have any other rooms, take it or leave it' (seriously, she was frightening!) Back in my room I verified in the app that there actually were several rooms available; so, I left the hotel and went 2 blocks down to the Holiday Inn Express (much nicer room and staff!)

Well let's begin. No hot water!. Towels was not enough in our room. Evening staff was training someone and was rude. I was trying something different. I use to be a reward holder and I was disappointed. Oh . I did forget the charge for parking which don't make no since because you're near the airport. There was a soccer tournament going on, not people flying in and out. $10.00 charge. Not good.

You’re going to pay the same to park at this hotel (whose listing says free parking) as you will at the airport. It’s an “airport” hotel. The shuttle isn’t located at the hotel and can’t be taken without advanced notice. Room was dated and musty. This is my first altogether disappointing Hampton experience. There are a handful of other hotels connected to the same parking lot as this one. Choose one of them.
