Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Airport

I almost didn’t stay here because of previous reviews. However, my daughter had an early flight out and we were expecting “historic” weather. So, last minute we made the call and other places we tried were already booked. It is an older hotel which does feel a little dated, but the facility and room were both nice, quiet, and clean. The bed was super comfy, too. They had an indoor restaurant and gym. AND their team was wonderful, from Kevin at booking, Ishmael at check-in, Alfonzo at the shuttle, and the sweet lady who checked me out this morning. (I’m sorry I may have forgotten your name—Tavina?) The airport was only a mile away and had given a notice about parking changes. It was SO easy to grab the hotel shuttle in the am instead of trying to drive and figure out unknown conditions. I

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the essential amenities. The staff was professional, courteous, and always willing to assist with any request. The location was convenient, making it easy to access key areas in the city. Overall, it was a comfortable and hassle-free experience. I would recommend this hotel to both business and leisure travelers.

The hotel was opened a few days before our arrival. The staff was great. Because it was so new, we were the first ones to use our room. There were extra touches, such as shelves in the bathroom and kitchen area. The bed was comfortable. They still have a few things to work out with the breakfast, which is why I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5. There was not water at breakfast. The OJ was at the bottom of the dispenser, as though it was left over from the day before. The apple juice was warm as well as the OJ. The biscuits were not cooked all the way through. Other than needing to improve the breakfast, the stay was great.

Unsanitary conditions—the hotel had a strong odor of mildew and mold, and visible mold was found in our room. We chose not to stay because it felt unsafe, especially with our toddler. The carpets were filthy, and the entire room felt grimy and poorly maintained. Despite checking in only minutes before, the front desk informed us we’d still be charged for the stay. I do not recommend this hotel. As frequent Hilton guests, we’re extremely disappointed in the company’s declining standards, particularly at many Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn locations.

I stayed here after my flight was canceled due to severe weather. The shuttle service from the airport was appreciated. The front desk staff was great and I would like to say a big thank to the two women who were working the bar/restaurant that evening. They did an amazing job
