Red Roof Inn Emporia

This was by far my worst experience at a hotel. The service was terrible the location was terrible and the room just makes the price seem expensive for what your paying for the room was there was a roach on the floor and I walked up to the front desk after about 30 minutes in the room after agreeing that we could not stay the night there the guy at the front denied a refund when I was very polite with him and asked kindly for a refund I plan on taking further actions and contacting corporate.

Inn is old & run down. Our room was an efficiency room at best. Toilet didn't flush well. We saw several small cockroaches on the floor & climbing up the wall right next to the bed where we slept. Thank God it was just before we checked out! Pool had leaves & flying bugs all over the top of the water. Continental breakfast was pretty good & we really liked the coffee. We paid $73 for the night. It should have been only about $40 or $50 tops for all the inconveniences. Although the breakfast was decent it's still not enough for us to stay there again!

The pictures make this establishment look a lot better than it actually does. The bed was extremely soft, the rooms are dated and in need of a serious update. There were two adults booked and they stocked the room with two towels. The housekeeping staff never came into clean the 3 days that we were there. It is convenient, it’s right off of I-95 and there are restaurants and convince stores nearby. You definitely get what you pay for. I know we won’t stay there again.

The room was barely acceptable. Bathroom was dirty, 1 of the 3 towels weren't clean (had hair in it and makeup stains). Bathroom was scratched up and had stains all over it. Breakfast wasn't that great, and the juice machine and waffle dispenser didn't work, coffee was bad, and the bagels are the crappiest white bread I ever saw. The actual hotel room was mediocre the beds smelled bad. I gave it 2 stars because it was dirt cheap, and you get what you pay for. I travel a lot, and I've been in hotels across the country. I would not stay here again. I'd rather spend an extra $15-$20 for a slightly better room. This hotel knows it's a "last resort traveler trap".

Do Not... I repeat do not stay here! My husband, young son, and I were driving to North Carolina and desperately needed a place to stay. The first room that they gave us had a disassembled air conditioner on the living room floor so we were unable to walk into the room or stay there. We went to the front desk and they gave us another room. The room was disgusting!! The comforter had cigarette burn holes in it in a non smoking room. The room was stained everywhere...carpets, sheets, comforters..etc. The air conditioner was broken and it was 90 degreees in the room at 2:30 in the morning in August. The pool was covered in brown algae. We tried to lay down because we were so tired and didn’t want to risk driving with our son, who was now drenched in sweat from the temperature of the room. B
