Baymont by Wyndham Emporia VA

One of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. Room 105. No door seal. I guess that is where the bugs got in through. I can hear all the cars on the highway. I can also ckearly hear the people walking in the room above me. The exhaust fan in the bathroom sounds super loud. What a dump! Avoid it like the plague! You are better off sleeping in your car.

Positive: The room was clean and nicely updated. Negative: The doors open directly to the exterior. While the door had a deadbolt, There was no secondary interior latch bolt. As a woman traveling alone, I felt slightly insecure. Also, the office/reception area is not connected to the building!

This was hands down the worst travel experience of my entire trip this year. I booked a one night stay for days inn at this location. Upon my arrival, I used the bathroom in the lobby. Broken toilet paper dispenser and dirty floors. I should have taken that as a warning for what was to come. I was checked in and given keys to a room that had not been touched by housekeeping. (Unmade bed, used towels on the floor of the bathroom and a full trash can) I also specifically booked a non- smoking room and was checked into a smoking room. When I asked the front desk to change my room, and ensure it was a non smoking room, I was told the next room would be fine. What a mistake. It was a smoking room which was also dirty. We arrived and tried to check in and the front desk was no where to be found. I called the hotel phone hoping someone would answer. Ten minutes later an attendant showed up. She said she wished she had the ability to do all the jobs/work she had to do. Seems like checking in tired guest is the most important job. The room was fine, but in the morning the cleaning staff walked into our room without knocking. ??? The hotel/ motel was dirty and broken down. We couldn’t get access to the one unbroken ice machine because the room closed at 10:00! Don’t stay here. Overpriced, understaffed, unprepared, not acceptable for the hospitality industry.

Didn't even get to enjoy the room. Nobody answered the phone to help me. 3 tries throughout my drive from NH to NC, from one day into the next day, and when I finally did talk to someone, I was told I was a no show. Yeah, because nobody answered the phone regarding my late check in. So I stayed somewhere else. Worst experience ever. Rude staff too.
