Holiday Inn Express & Suites Emporia by IHG

The room inside entrance and bathroom floor were filthy. My husband stepped out of shower with damp feet and left muddy footprints, disgusting. The closet doors were sealed shut so no place to hang clothes. One washcloth had black fingerprints on it. The sleeping area of the room appeared clean. In morning the room had no water. Unable to flush toilet or shower. Walked to front desk and reported, was told that we would receive a discount refund on the room but alas were charged Full Price. At least the coffee downstairs in the morning was good. Stayed one night which was one night too many.

From the warm gracious greeting at our 5pm arrival to the quiet night & immaculately clean room with no perfumey spray smell, this was a 5 star stay! My only other comment is that I wish hotel chains would realize their paying customers would like at least a small window opening for fresh air.

Every inch of the hotel was fresh and clean. From the business center to the laundry room and the tub and shower in my room. Friendly attentive staff, very good complimentary breakfast. A great stop when traveling. Also enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the Fo Sho Bar and Grill down the road.

Reserved a 2 Queen bed room with confirmation number around 7pm. Got there 1030pm and was given a king bed with a sofa bed. When the travel agent tried to call, no one was picking up. Their response to me was that's all they had. They asked me to refund my money, but after driving with wife and kids for 7 hours and it being late, I wasn't in a position to shop around. Basically they were saying you don'tlike it, here's your money back and leave. Also, they only managed to scrape up One Pillow for the twin sofa bed....pathetic! Also, the water pressure was non existent. Up early the next day and on the road by 7:30am. BOTTOM LINE, NEVER AGAIN THIS HOLIDAY INN!!!

Positive: Clean, Comfortable Rooms, Hot Breakfast Negative: Unfortunately my room was closest... right next... to the highway. Traffic noise was high and very disruptive.I imagine that the rooms located on the building end away from the highway have a satisfactory experience.
