Quality Inn Chester - South Richmond

My mistake for not reading the reviews. This was a last minute selection. I had to do a last minute trip to check on my daughter and this was one of the closest and cost effective locations recommended by my traveling app. I usually do not care much for fancy accommodations but this one qualifies as one of the worst stays. We traveled with 3 kids playing select sports so we have stayed in some sketchy places. Never again and the fact that I had to subject my child to this is beyond repugnant. Now the staff is super nice but that does not safe this horrible situation.

Room had ripped curtains, AC made the room smell like mildew every time it kicked on. Very limited breakfast options - waffles or cereal. Water did not get hot. Room was not cleaned by housekeeping once during our 4 night stay. There were gas station slots next to the pool room that was just being used as storage. Strange experience overall.

This was a last minute trip due to my father passing away. The only good thing about this hotel is the fact it’s located in Chester. The first room we were assigned smell like cat piss so we got moved to a “cleaner” room. The only problem was the roaches 😒 and I’m attaching photos to prove I’m not lying. This place needs and exterminator quick fast and in a hurry because they are leaving guests to run a risk of bringing roaches back to their homes. Oh yea, the gym is non existent and the breakfast buffet consists of waffles, apples, 2 choices of dry cereal and yogurt…that’s the buffet 😐

Bed bugs infested room. Didn’t think nothing of it until a few days later waking up with more and more welts all over. And the pictures below are just some of them that I could take a picture of it. They were all over my back and legs. Didn’t have time to change rooms due to my work and told them to go in there and replace the sheets the mattress and a full deep cleaning. And all they did was make the bed didn’t even change the sheets. Then I got moved didn’t want to deal with anymore, and asked the front desk to refund me the days I spent on that room and they straight up refused.

I had reservations to stay there Saturday Sunday and Monday night. When I got there and checked in I noticed that the hallway and elevator were pretty banged up and dirty. It wasn't until Sunday when I brought dinner home to the hotel but I saw a cockroach on my nightstand. That sent me over the edge and I walked out with two days left to stay. I went to the beautiful courtyard by Marriott across the street and it was delightful. One of the best hotels I've stayed at in years.
