Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Richmond Airport

Being so close to the airport was a huge plus! However, housekeeping removed all my items that were left in my room while I was out for the day. I had not checked out yet as my checkout was scheduled for the following day. I was able to get my hair straightener back but the lady at the front desk said she didn't see my other items. The rooms were fine, nothing special. A giant wall to wall mirror behind the bed personally made me uneasy but not a huge deal. The shower was hard to find a good water temp, it was either way too hot or way too cold no matter how little I moved it. The shower curtain had some hard water stains and what appeared to be mildew. There was a hole broken into the attached soap shelf in the shower.

To start, you get what you pay for and I’ll NEVER book here again. Had a plumbing emergency at home so we needed to get the kids and find a close hotel that provided two rooms at a decent price since we were about to get hit with a hefty plumbing bill a week before Christmas. Ok, to start, They were not welcoming. No greeting, no smile. Nothing. The rooms were not visually appealing. The carpet was torn and dirty. The couch was very dingy… we actually did not utilize the pull out beds in either room because there actually wasn’t a mattress in one and the other looked tattered. The bay window cushions in each room were filthy. The white comforters and towels looked like car rags (used our own bedding and towels the most part). The shower curtain, dirty. Positive: The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean Negative: The entire establishment smelled like a dispensary. Everything was dilapidated and run down including the door key mechanism which was a struggle every time I entered the room. Tidy but NOT clean and very dated

I have never in my life left a review like this but the state this room was in shocked me. I knew this hotel was on the cheaper side so there were things I was willing to overlook but the room was DISGUSTING. So disgusting I didn’t want to take my shoes off. I had to leave immediately and book another hotel. The lights were broken. Stains on the furniture. Something smeared on the wall. Burn holes in furniture. HOLES in the floor. It was a nightmare.

The entire space felt very old and outdated. Most importantly, the bed linens were wrinkled and had black shoe marks on them. When I lay down, I even got bitten! The pillows were yellowed and clearly not clean. I seriously suspect that they don’t wash the bedding at all and just reuse it from the previous guest. This is completely unacceptable.
