East Bay Suites

Four of us shared a two bedroom this week experiencing the big snowstorm on wed feb 18th. What a wonderful place to see the power of ice flows on Lake Superior. Special Shout out to Darcy who stayed over so we had what we needed and Jason for keeping pathways clear and all the snow clearing people. Loved hanging out in the common room with puzzles and games and chatting with other guests. Our place had enough tools for our cooking needs. I brought the basics like oil, butter, spices, salt and pepper. A food coop is next door. Easy walk around town. Gunflint Tavern was delicious and was open during the storm. Amazing!

This resort is beautiful and the location amazing. The lobby is a warm and cozy hang-out spot with warm drinks and games. Our suite was amazing and very clean with a view of the lake. We had 2 dogs with us and the entire resort is very dog-friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

We just got back from a two night stay. I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful suite that we had. Especially the big master bathroom. I called it a Spa bathroom. Everything in this unit was beautiful, including the big pictures on the walls. Beautiful paintings. Full kitchen, living room fireplace, and bedroom with fireplace. Everything turned out perfect for us.

The location was beautiful right on the lake. We were within walking distance of almost everything in town. We enjoyed the beautiful lobby with a fireplace and the complimentary popcorn in the evening was a bonus. The rooms were very comfortable and clean as well as the lobby area.

Suite was not a suite. Had Murphy bed that was falling apart. Fireplace was not a fireplace - it was an electric insert so small that it was barely noticeable. If you want a cheap stay then this is it. They also charged an additional “resort fee” of $35, upon departure. View of Lake Superior was great but would not recommend staying here.
