DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago Schaumburg

The room was clean, quiet, and safe the night I stayed. Maintenance is clearly an issue at this hotel. The elevator would get you to the 3rd floor, but the down call button did not operate (no light and no elevator). Using the stairs was the only option to get back down. The breakfast was reasonably priced and utilitarian. While this hotel managed to meet expectations for the price, it definitely is not a 4 star.

Worst experience. When issues were brought to hotel staff, they gave minimal help. Bare minimum. Rooms don’t get serviced so you have to go to the front desk to ask for more toilet paper and towels, and for your trash to be removed. Instead of sending supplies to your room, they just go in back and grab the towels and TP and hand them to you to bring back to your room.. Tried asking for assistance via the app and was completely ignored. Had issues with room temperature, lights and outlets not working. Pool was closed but they failed to mention that at booking or checkin and didn't offer any sort of consolation. There was a prostitute, walking the halls and harassing our group. Hotel is extremely outdated. Booked room off Priceline that "claims" this is a 4 star hotel. That may have been true 20 years ago but now it's more like a 2 star MOTEL. No nice amenities in the room. Shower pressure and temperature were weird. Room wasn't very clean. Bathroom was kind of gross. Floor was not clean. Water stains and other weird dark marks present on the ceiling. There was glitter freaking everywhere on the floor and it was not from us. The comforter was old and worn out, absolutely needs to be replaced. TV shut off on us at one point and would not turn back on. Several channels don't come in due to poor internet service. Stayed here for 8 nights. Room only had two working outlets located behind the desk. No side table on one side of the bed. Heat went out on night 4. They sent up a space heater. Maintenance came and said it was fixed. Not true. It’s 22 degrees outside and they can’t fix the heat? TV only worked on a few channels. Other channels had no sound. No service to the room. One elevator would always stick and the elevator has not been inspected since 2024. Never offered to move me and when I asked they said they would send up maintenance. Went down to the restaurant and the bill came handwritten on a piece of paper. I could charge to the room or pay cash. That’s was odd. Highly disappointing for a Hilton.
