Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Schaumburg

Granted, renovation was being done. However, that said, the continental breakfast was okay at best. The first room given upon arrival, we could not enter because the card reader on the door was dead. The 2nd room had stain on the carpet, hair on the pillow cases before we even touched the bed, little space, the TV would randomly turn off and back on about every 2-3 minutes, the hallways reminded us of "The Shining" but with trash on the floor and we had to walk over sheets of wood to get to the main entrance (to be fair, was probably also part of the renovation). The staff was friendly enough and did quickly give us another room when we went back downstairs, carrying our belongings, to report we were unable to gain access to the room.

Sheets were dirty. Hair on them and bed was just made with dirt sheets. Bathroom was dirty and hair shavings on wall and tub. Something bit my leg in the middle of the night. Never saw what it was but I put all my clothes and stuff on the table afterwards. Hallways were long and not convenient to get down. But, the place was super quiet! That was a plus. The staff was accommodating and gave me a room that had nobody near it. The breakfast was a continental and was sparse. Overall- it was a crash pad. It was quiet where I stayed. Only 1 room I passed smelled like weed. So, it works in a pinch. The owner let's folks live there in one part of the hotel. Not a bad place for what it was.

Location is great for when we visit my sister. They were renovating alot of the rooms when we checked in. New toilets, beds, TV stands. Big improvement since we stayed there last year. Cheapest place in the area. We just needed a place to sleep and shower and breakfast. Breakfast is the same, biscuit/gravy, bagels, mini muffins, bread, some fruit and waffle bar. Nothing extravagant but it fills the belly.

I read reviews before staying here, there was a lot of reviews about the lack of cleanliness but you never know if there's a change in staff or what not so I stayed there this past weekend. I had two rooms and both were quite gross, stains all over the floor, jelly beans and other miscellaneous items were scattered throughout the room, and there was stains on the bedding. We were originally on the first floor, the windows do not have screens and do not lock, being young women I didn't feel comfortable staying in a room anyone could open the window to and crawl into the room so I asked to move rooms to an upper level (windows still didn't lock but way less chance of someone breaking into the room through a window on a higher story) the rooms were still equally gross but safer in my opinion.

Suitable for the price - but this is very low Had a one night stay in the Hotel. It was completely booked out and overrun by airline passengers, and the computer system crashed several times, so the check in (at 8 pm) took around 1 hour. But the staff was professional and friendly. The rooms are worth the price - but this is very low. So i got a spacey room, but the sheets on the bad had old stains on them and the bathroom has some gray patina (that can’t be removed - so it's not “dirty”, but it looks like it. The elevators are dirty and not clean, the sidedoors are stuck and hard to open, but if the hotel is booked out often, there is probably no time to take care of the public spaces. Overall I will not recommend this hotel to my peers.
