While it easily accessible when driving through for a quick stop; it is slightly run down. It was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast that was included was a basic hotel breakfast. There is a restaurant connected if you were looking for more. We didn’t use the pool but it appeared clean.

This is the best value for money we’ve gotten in a long while. While on the road, I first tried to book a room in a large chain hotel. The taxes and fees added an additional $70 to the advertised price of $133 per night! Rather than fall for that trap, I kept searching and found this hotel. The advertised price was reasonable and the only additional charges were around $10 for taxes. Perfectly reasonable. The hotel is beautiful and a bit quirky in all good ways. Accent touches like antique accent furniture in the hallway, chandeliers, and real tablecloths at breakfast make it feel like a grand hotel from yesteryear. Yes, the carpet is a little worn, but the rooms and pool are super clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom feels luxurious. There are many places to eat within a mile

We just had a nice stay at The Chateau. I was able to check in online, so only had to stop at the front desk to get our room keys. The receptionist was helpful and friendly, and filled us in on the free breakfast. ||The Hotel: The hotel is very clean and you can tell considerable efforts have been made to refurbish it. The lobby is decorated in a grand old style with huge chandeliers and massive, ornate furniture. Our room was comfortable and quiet, which is amazing because there were a LOT of kids staying there. Our bed was made up with simple, pristine white bedding and was very comfortable. We got a great night’s sleep. The bathroom had been completely remodeled, it was very modern with a nice rain shower. One aspect of the room that could be updated would be more easily accessed outlet

Positive: It was an experience staying in a relic. The artifacts were interesting. Negative: it was old and had a mildew type smell. Rooms were clean, but the renovations (?) were subpar. I mean the chaulk looked as if an amateur did it. Just messy. Even the tub glaze. was smearing. It was the cheapest hotel and i see why.

Our room was very clean. I bring along a UV light when staying at hotels to check for bugs and such and the room was very clean, even under the UV light. The bed was very soft and comfortable, and those pillows were like fluffy clouds! There were a couple repairs that needed to be made to the room. However, they didn't effect my stay, just the appearance of the room. Our only real complaint was the TV kept doing something where you would have to restart it to change the channel. That was a pain, hence the 4 stars on the room. The staff I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. The location is close to food and a store. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Bloomington.
