Americas Best Value Inn East Syracuse

​I was a bit worried because of all the negative reviews, but the hotel met my expectations for a budget stay. While it's old and not well-maintained—with scratches and stains on the walls, for example—the room was reasonably clean given the price. The room didn't smell, but the blanket had a musty odor; this was fine since the top sheet was definitely clean. ​I'm on an 11-day bike tour from Brooklyn to Buffalo and mainly stay in budget hotels for $100 or less. In comparison, this one is a bit below average but not the worst, but it was the cheapest by a significant margin. Ultimately, I'd consider it a great value.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I wish I could score it less. Customer service is not existent. The smell of the entire hotel is off putting. The rooms are cramped with AC units that are so loud they will wake you up at night. The beds are like sleeping on a bag of springs, you’re better off on the floor. Oh and the floor once had color to it but the carpets are so old they’re gray. I wouldn’t spend more than $20 a night in this place. Would rather sleep outside than in this hotel.

Running out of acceptable places to stay - the more convenient establishment up the road was $120 per nite, I knew that place was becoming an increasingly bad place to stay from my last trip through the area, so $50something per nite seemed more reasonable, just needed a place to sleep. They have done some improvements, it appeared as tho there was new carpeting, some bathroom renovations since the last time i was there, however the cleaning staff needs to put their glasses on, or something, because it just isn’t clean, had to fight with the remote to get the TV turned on so i didn’t have to hear the neighbors on either side, That window seat had stains of unknown origin, and, i always bring my own sheet to sleep between, i know how clean mine are, theirs have seen way better days. Avoid this hotel! Carpets were threadbare, ice bucket in room but no cups. Air conditioning barely worked, carpet was saturated presumably from the air conditioner. One small microwave in the common area…I could go on. It’s best just to avoid this hotel.
