Addison Suites Hotel

This hotel was booked for a girls retreat weekend, and I cannot say this strongly enough, the photos online are completely misleading. As soon as we walked into the rooms, it was clear this was not just a little outdated. It was unsanitary and unsafe. There was blood on the curtains. Water inside the couch cushions (still trying to wrap my brain around that one). Ants on the floor. Spiders in the closets. And the final straw, a ceiling fan blade literally fell and hit one of the girls. When you are responsible for a group of young women, safety is not optional. Cleanliness is not optional. We immediately booked another hotel and left. The location itself was not terrible, but it did feel a little sketch. Positive: very close to restaurants, bars and shopping places. Negative: Front desk concierge left us waiting outside in the cold while trying to check in. Poor lighting on the property. Smelly hallways.

Hidden gem in Addison,. Check in was really easy, the young lady behind the desk was very, very helpful and smiled a lot.She was very kind. The hotel does seem to be undergoing construction but it wasn't much of an issue that impacted my stay. The actual rooms themselves are quite spacious.There is a separate living room and bedroon. And the beds are huge and so comfy!! The room I got had a fireplace in it. Which would have been really lovely in the winter. I was quite happy with my stay. It was for a short time, but I was extremely happy with the staff being so friendly and the hotel being really clean, I have stayed at other hotels in this area.And unfortunately cleanliness is not one of the biggest concerns.

I arrived to check In for our one night stay ($150) and I and was given a key card to a room that was being renovated. I had my small grandkids and several bags With me which made this a very frustrating experience. I was then given a new room and when I attempted to enter the room with the key card it did not work. The receptionist returned to the door with me and key card still did not work at which time he used what I assumed was a skeleton key card to allow entry into the room. He left and returned with a working key card. In the middle of the night the bed broke down. When I laid down in the bed it did sound very creaky but I didn’t think it would break. My stay dates were 11/29 - 11/30. As of today 12/7 I am still waiting on a call back from management.

I have never written a review about a hotel before, but after our experience, I just have to - I don't want people to have the same experience we did. Twenty minutes after checking into our room, we left and sacrificed our non-refundable stay. Both telephones in the rooms were disconnected, and neither television worked. Additionally, there was no wifi available. The room did have an old cigarette odor despite being listed as non-smoking. The rooms are large and have a nice layout, and the front desk clerk was very courteous, but we left and booked a stay at another hotel.
