Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown

Old school grand hotel that’s a bit dated. Cheaper rates than most other nearby chain hotels and definitely worth what you pay for. Several floors have been renovated and the rooms are really nice. Make sure to request a microwave be brought to your room if your room doesn’t have one. Synthetic “wood floors” in all rooms apparently so make sure you bring sandals or house slippers for the room. I was in town during a snow storm and the main lobby and fitness center were at least as cold as it was outside. Thankfully the heat in the rooms works as well as actually having HOT water for the sink and showers. Plus one star for having HOT showers!! This hotel has an amazing location, just a ten minute walk to downtown or a quick two minute drive. One of the absolute highlights is the on-site bar and restaurant, and the service is truly outstanding. We went every single day, and Christina was beyond wonderful, always so friendly and attentive, and she even remembered all of our preferences. The prices are very reasonable, and the fact that they offer a daily happy hour makes it even better. We absolutely loved our experience and would definitely come back!

Positive: I thought that the bed was very comfortable and affordably priced. The location was convenient for us in terms of doing things downtown. Negative: I did not like paying for parking on premise. I think the hotel could use some renovations, but for the amount of time we were staying it wasn’t that much of an issue

My Valentines Day weekend Friday night stay at the Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown was a disaster from start to finish. Upon checking in, the front desk staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. It started with the clerk saying "Check in's doesn't start until 4:00 PM", it was 3:45. After getting back in line at 4:00 PM, we finally got a room at 4:45 it was a standard King room (816) when I reserved a Jr suite. I returned to front and requested what I booked. Another clerk gave me a Jr Suite (1117). The suite she gave me was the worst room I've ever seen!! It smelled of mildew and the bathroom was atrocious. The ceiling in the bathroom was leaking; the mirror and floor was filthy. The bed in the bedroom was NOT secured so it rolled all of the place. I decided to report the issues when we

Awful awful awful never again! Omg where do I start!? So it was Valentines Weekend, first I called after 9am and 12pm for early check in and even though my room was cleaned they still didn't let me in until 4pm. Everybody couldn't check in until 4pm which took so long due to everyone showing up at 4pm to check into their rooms! The process took almost 1 hr with 1 receptionist! A second one finally showed up which was still ridiculous! I even did the pre check in the night before my check in date and still had to stand in line! When me and my fiance finally got to our room our tv had lines going through it like it was broke, we called front desk immediately. Idk who answered the phone but while I was telling them what was wrong with the tv, they not only cut me off mid sentence but hung up
