TownePlace Suites by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo

We were pleasantly surprised. Starting from the fella at check in, even late at night, he was so friendly and helpful. Personally brought us the bedding for the sofa bed up to our room along with the extra towels. The lady restocking the breakfast bar was working hard, and was friendly too. Service was great. Breakfast food is sufficient, rooms were clean, the hotel had the amenities we needed. Parking is a little tight, but there was enough. The breakfast area also gets packed pretty quickly but there are tables out by the pool area too. We stayed in a 2-bedroom. The beds felt more like double-sized beds. The sofa bed was a little hard, but the gentleman who checked us in gave us extra bedding to make it more comfy for our kids. Loved his thoughtfulness. We’d come back.

Positive: Unexpectedly, the room had a kitchenette that came with a full size refrigerator. Also, special attention to details like flatware, plates and bowls were there for our use. And, for the first time ever, a hotel staff called us to ask if everything was ok. Negative: The pillows were too soft. Not a big deal though.

Perfect stay for my family and I. Loved the kitchenette that included all the amenities we needed to cook instead of dining out! You could tell the rooms were fresh or possibly newly renovated. Clean, comfortable, and overall great stay. Complimentary breakfast - loved the waffles. Great value and amenities for the price. Right next to cal expo and local restaurants if you choose to eat out. But like I mentioned, I loved that we had the option to stay in and cook for the kiddos. Also, the staff were amazing! Definitely will be coming back and have already shared our experience with friends and family!

The hotel is really nice don't get me wrong it smells great in the lobby and it looks brand new. All of the rooms are very nice just a little compact. They are clean and everything functions and works properly. Front desk customer service is excellent. Unfortunately you do have to pay for parking per day. The other downside of this hotel is it is pretty noisy. Other people that stay here have no manners and will yell and talk loudly in the middle of the night. Overall it's not a bad hotel. An honest rating would be 3.8 stars.

The hotel and rooms are dated, but clean. The value is there when compared to others in the area. The real problem with this place is the customer service. The manager was unwilling to help and rude. She actually hung up on me. She also cancelled my reservation after hanging up on me, with no discussion. It's a shame too, because is a terrible blemish on a great company. I can't believe that Marriott would allow a rouge employee to ruin the company's name. Do yourself a favor, stay at the Courtyard or Fairfield on the same property.
