Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento at CSUS

It's a clean and spacious hotel that's close by CSUS. The room is nice but it's a bit loud. All sorts of things spool on and off throughout the night. Walls are pretty thin and we can hear every step people make in the room right above us. The thermostat is all digital and not dimmable so it's too bright for my taste. Bring an eye mask if you're sensitive to light like me. There's coffee/tea/hot water in the lobby and a hot breakfast from 6-10.

The King room is very comfortable, quiet & clean. Bathroom is nice with good lighting, plenty of space, a large walk-in shower, and good water pressure. |The bedroom is typical hotel style, but with a small fridge & huge tv. |Front staff was very welcoming. |We didn't eat the complementary breakfast, so we can't comment about it. |You have to pay an additional $11 for parking, but all things considered, it's not outrageous. |The windows do open for fresh air, but the odd numbered rooms face the freeway, so the noise discourages that. Next time we're going to see if outside noise is quieter on the even numbered side. |With the windows closed, the room is comfortably quiet.|If you like a pillow with loft, bring your own. I booked this hotel because last time I visited Sacramento I stayed at a different Hampton location and I had a great experience. When I arrived at this hotel the front desk person was very nice and helpful, the room was very clean, the only issue is in the morning I didn’t realize breakfast ended at 10 and I showed up like a minute before closing and the man picking up all the food was very rude because I was trying to hurry up and serve something for my kids. I understand that there is a closing time but it’s the attitude that counts, all I got form myself was 2 muffins because he was so mad and once we seated to eat whatever we could grab and he closed I noticed employees pass by with plates full of food lol.

Guest suite had a mildew smell that was very noticeable upon entering. Had to buy air freshener to spray the room the next day. Housekeeping didn't add more towel after taking used towels. Towel were requested 2x's during our 4 night stay. On our 4th day, our key card was deactivated and had to be reactivate each time, which was pretty annoying. Overall, the room was OK and a good size for my family.

To start, I changed rooms 3 times the young man who worked overnight was very helpful in switching my room on the 4th floor but the very next day when I came down to speak with management the person I spoke with Nora tried to get the general manager a man named Roy to come and assist me, he instructed her to wait for the other manager to come in. Im glad that he wasnt helpful because the young woman manager that i did wait for was very attentive and accommodating i wasnt wanting a refund my company was paying for my stay i just wanted to inform someone in charge of the challenges i had with the room, and what my suggestion was to fix the issue. Both the general manager and another male manager walked passed me as i waited at the desk for a lower level manager to arrive and help. And I real
