Town & Country Motor Inn

Exceptionally clean. Comfortable beds. We had a well ventilated spacious room with large windows. For a budget friendly older type of a place, it exceeded my expectations. Reliable wifi. Good plumbing. Stayed in several Lake Placid hotels over the years paying nearly x2 the rate with varying satisfaction. This one had everything that we needed (and more) especially considering the $. The owner seemed really caring and sweet.

I have stayed here quite a few times now and have greatly enjoyed it. While the rooms have been quiet and nice, the location is also ideal- far enough from the noise of downtown but still within walking distance when needed (movie theater, restaurants, shops). There is also a really nice hike on the peninsula trail just down the road. I've coordinated with the same woman at the front desk each time and she has always been very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Town & Country has been, and will continue to be, my go-to in lake placid.

Great Weekend We have been coming to Lake Placid for many years and used to stay on the other side of the village until the Motel we frequented closed. We’ve tried a few others, but while nice, the value was not there. We tried the Town and Country this weekend and are so glad we did. This side of town is closer the the lake and less busy. During these Covid times that is important. The room was dated, but homey, and most importantly very, very clean. The owners actually work onsite (always a plus) and are extremely accommodating. The pool is really clean and nice. The price was very reasonable since we easily could spend twice as much. The weather and hiking were great and most people in town and on the trails wore masks and honored social distancing. We will definitely be back! Read less

My boyfriend & I stayed in the cottage at the back of the property for one night. There’s a small living room/kitchenette combo and bathroom on the main floor. The shower was fine. The upstairs loft has two double beds. There’s a bench on the front side of the cottage and a small table with chairs on the grassy side of the cottage. The space is very cozy/cute and while not set up to be, ended up being very romantic with the fireplace. We ended up unfolding the futon in the living room and sleeping on that to be closer to the fireplace for the romance aspect, the space upstairs was plenty warm. We will definitely consider staying here again, either by ourselves or with some friends.

The room was dirty, food all over the bedspread, and one of the beds obviously was not changed since the previous guest. The bathroom light and fan stopped working, and the office was closed early, so we could not have it repaired- had to use our cell phone flashlights to have light. Even without these issues, the price for the room was definitely not worth it.
