The Westin Southfield Detroit

First, I want to make it clear that this review has absolutely nothing to do with the staff working during my shortened stay. Tim (the Food and Beverage Manager) and the three front desk associates I interacted with were exceptional. This review is based solely on the hotel’s overall condition and experience.||Charging $15 per night to park in a lot that feels like playing Jenga in reverse is unbelievable. The signage is confusing, the lane directions are unclear, and any arrows on the ground are practically invisible. After finally finding a spot and walking toward the hotel, the area felt strangely desolate despite how busy the property was. I thought, “Maybe it’s just me—Westins usually don’t feel like this,” but brushed it off as nitpicking.||Heading down the stairs to the registration

The Westin Southfield Detroit is a luxury while low profile hotel. Upon you walk in huge black pillars on both sides of the high-ceiling lobby explain themselves. The big golden bowl and cute little fountain (on the left side) is the artwork and melody to amplify the elegance. The breakfast here is not as extraordinary as the hotel is, while the decorations of the room and the aisles are, like the stairs and golden handles at the 12F, just gorgeous 😍. Also like the brownish golden themed colors of the building, very eye-catching even on the highway.

Positive: The staff we interacted with were great. Negative: The room was not as clean as I expected, especially the shower which still had hair on the bottom from a prior stay. The shower also dripped for a long time after being shut off.

We had an excellent stay here. The hotel staff was super helpful, our room was clean, the bedding was AMAZING!! (We even ordered the pillows we slept on as soon as we woke up in the morning they were so dang comfortable!) the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. We had dinner at Tango our first night and the food was out of this world delicious and our server Sabra was top notch!! I can’t say enough good things about this place. My son just moved very close to here so I will be coming back again for sure !! Thanks for a great stay !!

Erica is wonderful! She hosted the hotel breakfast on the morning of January 14. She was very attentive, polite, and professional. I came down with only 20 minutes left for breakfast, and there was never a moment where I felt rushed or overlooked. Miss Erica is also a lovely lady with a beautiful smile. I appreciated her. Another note on my experience overall- the staff are excellent in response time, information detail, and professionalism with respect to answering my questions (even for directions to get around outside the hotel! I used to live in this area 17yrs ago and I have forgotten so much, in terms of direction🙈🤭). The housekeeping staff is also quite attentive and welcoming. Much appreciated.
