If customer service alone determined hotel ratings, this place would be five stars. The staff was phenomenal. The woman with black hair and blue eyes who served our meals the first night was an absolute superstar. Now for the rest. There was no heat in the lobby, so we got the full Pure Michigan winter experience immediately upon arrival. The shower water temperature could be described as “refreshing” if you’re training for a polar plunge. One coworker discovered bed bugs apparently they were trying to stay warm too. Another had her room heat go out and it wasn’t fixed until the following evening. Someone else got stuck in the elevator, which really strengthened our team bonding experience. Nothing says corporate retreat like texting “if I don’t make it, tell my family I love them.” My sh

I recently stayed at this hotel. This is my go-to hotel when visiting relatives in Detroit. It's always nice, always clean and the staff is always very nice. The rooms are always clean and quiet. It has plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. ||After all of my stays here this is my first time having an issue. We were traveling to a funeral so I reserved three rooms. One for myself and the other two for relatives that I was traveling with. When we got to the hotel we left the guy at the front desk know that even though I had made all of the reservations each person would be paying for their own rooms. ||He took the credit cards and drivers licenses for all three of us for the rooms. Positive: It is clean. Last year I was at a hotel where the bathtub walls seemed to be held up by the layer of mold. I refused to pay for the room when I got up in the morning to shower. Negative: You don't let us know there is a charge for breakfast. Hotel breakfast are usually well worth missing. I will never know at your place because I would never pay for a hotel breakfast--especially in advance. But the coffee was free and all I required.

I was genuinely excited when I received a complimentary upgrade before arriving — a nice perk of being a loyal Hilton Diamond member. The upgrade was for an “Executive Suite with attached board meeting room.” While the meeting room itself was generally nice, the lighting was poor and the furniture — a foldable table with white scuff marks and dated chairs — really detracted from the overall impression. The bedroom was comfortable and clean, but it lacked basic convenience. There was no table or outlet on the left side of the king bed, which was frustrating since that’s the side I sleep on and use for charging devices. Experience seems mostly based on the room received. We recently had a work trip which included over 30 rooms. More than half of us had only 3-4 minutes of hot water and decent water pressure. My room included this issue and also the heat went out in the middle of the night with an error on the thermostat (below freezing temps outside). Staff did not know how to reset it and had to wait for maintenance several hours later. When he met with me I asked him how to reset it if it happened again, and it was so simple it's wild that all staff would not be aware of how to handle that situation. One of two elevators continuously went out.
