The Carolina Inn, a Destination by Hyatt Hotel

This was a wonderful, peaceful, and beautiful hotel near the University of North Carolina. I was delighted by the warm and friendly greetings and smiles from all the staff, especially the woman at the reception desk. The hotel's interior was elegant with classic decor and dazzling Christmas decorations, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The room was smaller than a typical hotel room, and the lighting was dim, but I suppose that's understandable for a historic hotel. There were plenty of places to charge my iPhone, which was convenient. The living room had many comfortable chairs, and my family and I enjoyed a pleasant evening listening to music and watching TV. Hotel is very conveniently located nearby the hospital in Chapel Hill and it was easy to get back and forth with the hotel shuttle. This was extremely convenient for my family visiting a 99 year old grandfather who was being cared for nearby after a fall. The staff were the most accommodating, caring, flexible, and downright incredible. I've traveled 40+ countries and this hotel, close to home for me, will forever stand out as the best hotel experience I've had. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the entire staff team at The Carolina Inn. You made a difficult time a bit easier to manage, and we are deeply appreciative.

Incredible property. A splendid hotel experience in the middle of the campus of the University of North Carolina, the first public university in America. The hotel itself is exquisite, clean, and inviting. The food is superb. But the location is the key. You cannot get closer to a historic college. It is perfect.

We attended the Brunch with Santa ( 12/22/2025) event hoping to create a special holiday memory for our children. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing and hurtful. When our kids approached Santa excitedly and reached out for a high five, Santa turned his back to them and walked away without acknowledging them at all. There was no explanation, no smile, no attempt to engage. Our children were confused and heartbroken, and as parents we were left trying to explain behavior that simply shouldn't happen at a family focused holiday event. What made this even more painful is that our family has made many sacrifices in service to this country.
