Hampton Inn & Suites Chapel Hill/Durham, Area

Great service at check in. Clean and quiet rooms. The breakfast area was well stocked and plenty of good choices. The gym is OK, but the monitors do not work. My only real complaint is the charge for parking. It is a private parking company and not noted until you arrive. Protest when you check in.

Except for the large dead cockroach I discovered when I woke up, I found the Hampton Inn experience to be generally fine. Receptionists were friendly and helpful; breakfast was just fine; maids cleaned your room every other day or upon request. When I pointed out the roach, the maid helpfully kicked it into the hallway. I told the front desk about the roach, and the receptionist said someone would reach out. Didn't hear from anyone for the rest of my stay. Thankfully, I also didn't see anymore cockroaches. But when I checked out, I mentioned the cockroach again and the receptionist said they have had continuous problems with roaches. Still haven't heard from the manager, so I guess I'll just warn everyone to step lightly!

Want's thrilled to pay for parking, as others have mentioned, but $10/night wasn't terrible. Shower didn't have any conditioner. Not sure if it's available. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only issue I had was replying to the "how's your stay" text to ask about the lack of conditioner went unanswered. Also, the AC was struggling to keep up, and it wasn't that hot while I was there.

Fantastic stay with clean rooms, decent breakfast (including banana bread waffles), friendly staff. Danielle who checked me in was very kind. Quiet at night. Fyi there is no conditioner in the rooms and parking is paid though was given a parking voucher on arrival. Fitness room has a peloton bike

Positive: The hotel was clean, the location was convenient and the staff were amazing. Negative: Not a thing.
