Graduate by Hilton Chapel Hill

Nice hotel in downtown chapel hill. Eclectic furnishings with a lot of unc references . Don’t think it is worth the 4 stars though. Little things that you would expect for a 4 star hotel were missing. No ice bucket in the room, nor tea, just powdered instant coffee for example . Staff could have been friendlier.

Good location in town. They randomly increased the price from what I booked online at the front desk. No breakfast included. I bought breakfast and that brioche bun was not fresh. The eggs were also not from a chicken! It wasn’t too expensive so can’t complain too hard. I thought it was a bit gimmicky, the decor. Maybe that’s just what a college town hotel is supposed to be?

Upon arrival, there were two dogs consistently barking next door so we asked to switch room. Front desk staff seemed very bothered by this request; our request was granted but not without attitude. Returning from the basketball game at 920 p.m. we were delighted to see the sign outside the bar and restaurant that clarely said "Dinner and drinks 5 -10 p.m." We walked in and began to look at a menu and a very rude waitress barked at us "JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED". We asked why since the sign said 10 pm and she walked off. We tried to tell the front desk staff about this and she giggled and said "huh, I don't know". We asked if there were snacks she could offer us and she just laughed uncomfortably. With all the options in Chapel Hill walkable to campus, will not stay

Bad experience. Good location. 0 hot water. The worst part was there was a holiday parade that blocked off Franklin street. The staff did not make us aware of this at any point, so when we go to checkout and get home, we are told we can’t leave until 2.5 hours later after the parade. Really frustrating as all it took was someone to mention we would need to be out extra early or park somewhere else. Won’t be back.

Centrally located. Front desk very friendly. Room with balcony is great. Very good bar with outdoor seating. Simple pub grub , but the chef was very flexible with veg needs. Fidel the bar tender was super. He was highly efficient and friendly. The rooms could use some closed cupboards. Also Instant coffee in the room? Front of the hotel we didn’t feel comfortable with so many homeless people. The hotel can’t do anything about it. It is the city.
