Residence Inn by Marriott Chapel Hill

My family and I had an unpleasant experience at this hotel. Our TV did not work at all, and when I called the front desk, the person on duty responded by saying, "I talked to our engineer and he said there's nothing he can do." This individual then promised us a partial refund for the inconvenience, yet management pulled the offer of the promised refund after we checked out. The room itself was also uncomfortable and the A/C simply did not cool down the room on an unseasonably warm March day. We also found it to be very, very loud throughout the night and into the morning.

I was totally shocked when I entered the room. The carpet was shredded at the edge, all the furniture looked like it had been hammered and had chips and marks everywhere. It was very dark and more than outdated. There wasn't even a usb port anywhere in the room. It felt dirty. I didn't even want to sit down on the couch. We went to find ice and was told it would be in the freezer in our refrigerator. No ice! The free breakfast area was very small. We only needed to spend one night there. If I had to spend another night, I would have moved to a different hotel. Please re=write your ads as this room was disgusting!

Our stay was excellent! I am a patient at UNC and the location made it a quick commute to the hospital. Our suite was spacious, very clean, and accommodating- even for my toddler. The breakfast bar was the best I've experienced and not to mention the breakfast attendant was so kind, helpful, and such a hard worker. I hope they take great care of her! All of the staff were so pleasant and helpful and our overall stay surpassed our expectations. We will definitely be back for future UNC visits!

Rooms were clean. Furniture was nicely placed to compliment the space. However some of the furniture/fixture needs repair (i.e. sofa cushions ripping at the stitches, towel hanger falling off the wall when placed any piece of clothing/towel). Breakfast was included, however, selection was limited - only one cut melon pieces, no (very limited) kosher or Muslim breakfast options (muffin, bagel, oatmeal). Service staff was very nice and helpful.

Clean, nice sized rooms with a kitchenette. Close to everything I needed to do. Lovely property that backs up to protected land so it's quite. Included breakfast was pretty average for a chain hotel, nothing special but not bad. Staff are pretty friendly. There's also a nice pool but, being November, we didn't use it.
