SpringHill Suites by Marriott Norfolk Virginia Beach

Overall pretty decent hotel. There are a few things that could have been better. First, the room. Room seemed to have been remodeled recently (the hotel is currently under some renovations). Comfortable bed, pillows a little soft for my liking, but not bad by any means. TV is a bit small and dated for having had a recent remodel. The big issue for me was the shower. Would take literally 5+ min to warm up, and warm was about as much as you would get. Breakfast gets mixed reviews. In general, typical hotel breakfasts at the majority of hotels are mediocre. Some days the breakfast exceeded my expectations. Eggs actually had some texture and flavor and the other breakfast items were pretty good too. However, some days, the eggs were heavily soaked in butter. Location is decent, however, not

Hotel was in good location near airport, freeway, close to downtown. free parking, safe area. Room was adequate, walls thin, not enough outlets for business traveler. Breakfast was good, variety, great water pressure for showers. Denny's and a mexican restaurant is close by. ||Cleaning was good when requested. Room was on the smaller for longer stays

Positive: The breakfast was good. Negative: Staff didn’t tell me about ongoing construction. There were shady characters in and out. Was also not informed about $100 hold for “incidentals” after already paying almost $---

Rooms and breakfast are fine and on par to expectations. The main problem I have is that it is not disclosed anywhere on their website or app that there is constant construction happening here and on top of that they shut off the water main today for 7 hours and didn't make people aware it was happening until the day before. So no water, no bathrooms, nothing. Seems like they are more concerned about people still booking their location then transparency about what to expect during your stay. I would have definitely booked elsewhere had they been transparent during the booking process. Due to this I suggest booking somewhere else for a much better stay.

I was not impressed with this location. There were many issues during my stay. First thing was the room was extremely hot and took several hours to cool down. 2nd, the body wash container in the shower was empty. 3rd the toilet had a leak, 4th the TV was extremely small for the size of the suite 5th the bed was hard and the breakfast selection was extremely poor. Eggs, mystery meat pieces and grits. No Splenda or cream for coffee was available. I paid extra to stay here thinking this location would be as good as other locations but I was wrong. I definitely won't be staying at this location again. I wasn't even recognized as a Marriott rewards member where I am at other locations.
