SpringHill Suites by Marriott Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport/Mall of America

We stayed one night at the SpringHill Suites near the Mall of America on our way up to Duluth last weekend. We’ve stayed here once before (a couple months ago) and liked the layout of the 2-King Suite, so when a good cash+points rate popped up, we booked it again.||The positives: The location is great — just a short drive to the MOA — and the front desk staff were very friendly. Our 2-king suite was spacious and well-designed, with a separate bedroom, another king bed in the main area, a comfortable living space, and a large bathroom. It worked perfectly for our 12-year-old niece who needed her own sleeping space.|However, a few things really detracted from the stay.||First, parking is… tricky. Stayed one night at this SpringHill Suites mainly because of its perfect location—just a short drive from the airport. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, booking was quick and easy, and I’m already familiar with the SpringHill setup, which fits well with my busy work schedule. The hotel has a decent-sized parking lot, and upon check-in, they provide a tag to display on your dashboard. I liked the overall room size and layout—spacious, comfortable, and practical. The fridge and microwave worked well, which I always appreciate when traveling for work. I’ve also included detailed photos for reference. We stay here every year before going on our annual family vacation. I pay to keep my pickup on the heated garage and take advantage of the airport shuttle to and from the airport. It's a great service, the shuttle drivers are hit and miss. Some are rude, others great. Rooms could use more attention when it comes to up keep in my opinion. Cleanliness is good, but touchups and repairs are lacking.

The hotel is close to the airport and the free shuttle to airport is great! Rooms had burns on carpet, non working room and bathroom lights, issues connecting to the Internet and LOUD refrigerator that kept us up. Honestly for the $150 I paid for the basic room it was not worth it and probably will try another hotel next time.

Positive: Very short drive to MOA (10 min), staff were super friendly, room was spacious. The pool was super tiny! But we were the only ones in there when we used it. They guy at the bar seemed super outgoing and greeted people when coming into the hotel. Negative: The milk was bad the first day of breakfast but the following day all the milk from that specific date was gone. So that is a plus within the negative.
