SpringHill Suites by Marriott Gaithersburg

We will definitely use this hotel again when we are in this area. Location is great--short ride to the metro station and within walking distance of many restaurants. Quiet (for an urban area) location. Rooms clean and plenty of space. Bed and pillow comfortable. Morning breakfast was okay, standard fare. Staff was welcoming. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for one a little outside the city with easy public transportation.

Positive: Great location in Washingtonian Center Negative: SpringHill Suites has gone downhill since the previous time I stayed here. They now charge for parking even though they're located in Rio, a mecca of free parking. They didn't have sheets for the sofa bed which was filthy anyway.

SpringHill Suites: Convenient but Could Use Some Improvements SpringHill Suites is a simple and fairly priced option if you’re looking for a clean place to stay without extras. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the property is walking distance to Rio, which is a huge plus for dining and entertainment. However, the rooms are on the small side and the water pressure in the shower is weak. There also weren’t enough towel bars or hooks, which made things less convenient than they should be. Noise can be an issue, especially since the hotel is close to major roads. Light sleepers might want to take note. The fitness center is small but functional, with cardio equipment and free weights. Great location within walking distance to restaurants, Target, and shops. The room was spacious and comfortable, though king rooms on the highway side can be noisy at night. Breakfast was basic.

The location was good being near the boardwalk in Washingtonian Center and walking distance to a Target and restaurants. + Barnes& Noble. The staff was very nice though I had little interaction. The hotel seems a little tired and outdated compared to the SpringHill suites. I stayed in a couple times in Columbia, Maryland which was more updated with furniture and breakfast choices etc.|First of all, the water pressure was quite good which to me is important because I want to be able to take a nice long hot shower when I go to a hotel. But the water never got super hot two out of three showers and the shower that did get very hot. Took 10 minutes to get to that temperature.
