Courtyard by Marriott Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center

No hot water in the entire building…. Several guests complained along with myself at check out. I ended up checking out early and they tried to charge me an early departure fee for leaving due to being unable to take a shower! 7 dollars for a 1.50 bottle of water and Fridge and tv are on timers… thank goodness I figured out my food wasn’t being chilled because it would have went bad. Like are you supposed to wake up every two hours to turn the fridge back on? What if I had medicine that needed to be kept at a certain temperature? TV kept shutting off even when we said we were still watching it… hitting “ok” did nothing. They gave me a microwave and let me check in early. Room was decent. Thank goodness I brought an electric cooler for my sons meds because I don’t always trust that hotel

I examined all the Marriott properties in the DC area several times and chose to stay at this property for 4 days. I made the right decision. I recommend upgrading to a King Suite. It was very spacious and clean and comfortable. The couch in the living room may be uncomfortable for a tall person but I'm short so it was fine. The parking is different, you have to park across the street at a garage. I was worried because I had a lot of stuff to take to my room (I tend to overpack and buy too much at the grocery store for my stay) but there was a space in the 15-minute parking in front of the hotel and there was a luggage cart, so it was pretty easy unloading. The parking is free which is getting pretty rare these days with Marriott properties. The garage does get hectic on a Saturday

Traveled there for business. The location was great - nice area with the boardwalk and walking distance from a variety of restaurants. Nice to have Starbucks right on the property. Front desk service was friendly and helpful. Tiny quirk: used to get complimentary water for rewards members, but not a biggie. Will stay again.

The room was clean and comfortable, located near the pedestrian street with a nice view. The only downside was that breakfast was à la carte and not very diverse.

We recently held our baby shower here! It was great--we booked one of the Salons and the hotel staff (thanks, Shelby and Thi!) went above and beyond to make things successful. I was impressed that we had control of the temperature in the room. Our guests easily found parking in the garage across the street. We didn't have A/V and used outside catering, so I can't comment on those. One nice feature of the salons is that guests could leave the room if a kid needed a break or an adult had to take a call. The nearby balcony had a great view of the lake.
