SpringHill Suites by Marriott Detroit Metro Airport Romulus

Stayed here the night before a super early flight because it was close to the yellow bus parking. The hotel was super clean. Love the layout. Bed was super comfortable. The staff was friendly & amazing. Left too early to get the free breakfast. But will definitely stay here again if I have an early flight.

Spent money out of pocket for this hotel instead of taking a chance on the very poorly rated free airline-provided hotels. I hoped that it would be better, but it had significant problems. There was no hot water at night or in the morning. The water technically wasn’t ice cold, but never warmed to more than lukewarm (not nearly warm enough to take a shower). Reception offered me a different room but it had the same issue. The bed was fairly comfortable and the linens clean. The room did not smell. The bathroom mirror, however, was disgustingly dirty. I wouldn’t stay here again. Not worth the $124!!

Positive: proximity to the airport, friendly staff, relatively clean room Negative: the carpet smelled like urine, I could hear the guest upstairs walking around (woke me out of sound sleep) the coffee maker came with the wrong pod insert (so could not be used)

This hotel is rather new. Very close to airport with shuttle. Rooms are very large with sofa bed and mini fridge. Bathroom door not very private, like many other springhills. Breakfast is adequate, a few prepackaged hot items but nothing freshly cooked. Beds a little on the soft side. There is a hot tub and pool but we did not try them. Very pleased with the stay

To begin, the staff is superior! They are all about service from start to finish and THEY make the hotel. Stayed for 3 nights while attending various family events and a memorial service. The rooms are large and clean. They are very noisy. I understand it's right next to DTW, but I'm talking in-house noise...not airport noise. The pipes make constant thumping noises in the walls throughout the night. Sounded like someone throwing a tennis ball against the wall all night. The rooms have horrible lighting. There are lots of lights, but if you are attending any events where you need to be able to see yourself clear enough to do make-up, bring your own LIGHTED make-up mirror. We literally had to sit on the floor by the window and use a hand-held mirror to see anything. Air conditioning
