Holiday Inn Express Romulus / Detroit Airport by IHG

The Holiday Inn express was great! Super convenient with the quick park airport parking lot, practically being attached to the hotel. Easily the fastest shuttle buses I’ve ever seen at an airport. Our room was super clean and the girl that checked us in at the counter was really friendly. Everything worked as it should. I will be staying here again when I travel out of the Detroit airport. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone !

One of the reasons that we choose to regularly book st Holiday in zExpress hotels is that we are very seldom disappointed. But we sure as heck were at the Holiday Inn Express Romulus / Detroit Airport by IHG!|| It was not just a disapointment, it was a resounding disapointment. This place was definitely NOT a typical Holiday Inn Express, rather it appeared like a converted old-style Motel Six. However, Motel Six of old would have been embarrassed by the service delivered by the front desk. The issues started when my wife called the motel seeking the info we needed to take the shuttle from the sirport to the motel. The fellow on the front desk knew nothing about the shuttle service. I thought we stayed the night at this Holiday Inn express and parked our car there. But it was not this one. It was the one in Belleville. We accidentally ended up there on the Romulus shuttle. I would like to point out one employee who went above and beyond to help us get back on track. Not only to get to the right shuttle to the Holiday Inn Express where the car was parked, but we also left one of the bags on the original shuttle and she helped us retrieve it. Her customer service was outstanding and she was very helpful. My husband and I want to make a special mention of her excellent customer service.Her name is Christie and she works at the Holiday Inn Express in Romulus. Thank you Christie!

We have stayed at this property multiple times using their Park N Ride pkg which is reasonable. The evening check-in help are fantastic. The day shift very laid back including the dining room. They spent a long time sitting and chatting in the morning even when the coffee ran out. On top of that, when I informed the desk upon check out that our bathroom would be wet as there wasn’t a a shower curtain, she said oh, I’ll let housekeeping know or some such thing. Think she could have been more professional or offered additional points or something.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Romulus and had a mixed experience. The service was truly excellent — staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating throughout my stay. The complimentary breakfast was also a highlight: hot, well-stocked, and with plenty of options each morning. I also appreciated the fitness center, which had the equipment I needed for a solid workout, and the location was convenient for my travel plans. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the strong cigarette smoke smell in my room. It was noticeable immediately upon entering and lingered throughout my entire stay, which was very disappointing — especially in what is advertised as a non-smoking property.
