Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites near the Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus provided a smooth and comfortable stay. The room was clean, quiet, and well prepared, with a comfortable bed and everything arranged for a restful night before an early flight. The bathroom was in good condition with solid water pressure and fresh towels, which always makes the stay feel more comfortable. The staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient, making both check-in and checkout quick and easy. The lobby and common areas were tidy, and the hotel had a calm atmosphere even with airport traffic nearby. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection of items and was kept stocked and clean during busy hours. Overall, this Fairfield is a reliable and convenient choice if you’re flying in or out of DTW.

Positive: The location is conveniently close to walkable options for food and beverages. Negative: The layout of the walk-in shower is poorly thought out, as the hinge is on the wrong side of the door. You must be undressed to even turn on the water, much less find the right temperature on the unfamiliar controls. Empty soda bottles under the bed.

We stayed at this Fairfield Inn near the Detroit airport for one night, and the experience was very disappointing. The hotel feels completely run-down and outdated, everything looks old, worn, and poorly maintained. The room and common areas give a strong impression of age and lack of renovation, and overall cleanliness was below expectations for this brand. Breakfast technically starts at 6:30 a.m., but for an airport hotel where guests usually leave very early for flights, it is unacceptable that there is no take-out option at all. Many airport hotels at least offer a grab-and-go bag, a muffin, or something simple, and this hotel provides nothing. Fair. Close to the airport and clean. Property looks a little worn and can probably use an update to furniture and fittings. People are friendly and professional here and everything is spotless but it is not new. Gym and pool are nice and everything works fine but 2 treadmills and 1 elliptical is all that they have, no weights or floor mats for example. I think my favorite thing was the service from the people working here.

Find someplace else, DO NOT STAY HERE! Very disappointing experience. The hotel charged a USD $75 security deposit and refused to refund it, claiming it was for parking — even though free airport parking was clearly included in my reservation. I attached a document proving that parking was included in the stay. This practice is misleading and unacceptable. The property is old, poorly maintained, and smells bad. The facilities are worn out and give a strong feeling of neglect. The location is unpleasant, the overall environment is uncomfortable, and unfortunately the staff attitude reflects the poor condition of the hotel — unprofessional and unhelpful. This hotel does not meet Marriott standards. Between the poor maintenance, bad atmosphere, and the missing refund, I would not recomme
