Hampton Inn & Suites Detroit/Airport-Romulus

Great place, staff is nice and everything is so clean. Very happy and will be returning, big bathrooms and comfy bed. My husband and I spent one night here before heading to the airport, from the moment you check in with a warm smile, the breakfast in the morning with a nice hot coffee really is a nice touch. Cleanest breakfast area I’ve ever seen .The shuttle driver was very pleasant and great with time, everything went smoothly.

Based on my experience here, I wouldn't recommend. The photos of this hotel are very deceiving. The room I received was not the best. For example, the microwave and mini fridge were directly next to the top of the bed where you lay your head. Very odd spot to have this placed. The room was definitely not that spacious either. Beds were comfortable and nice so that's a plus. The room door had issues when closing, so you had to be sure to put pressure on closing the door to ensure it locking in place. The customer service received was pretty good though. My largest complaint on this hotel was the uncleanliness and loud noise. But to be fair, this was not necessarily at the hotel's doing. Nothing wrong with this hotel but just a very average Hampton. I thought it looked like an older Hampton so surprised others thought it was new. Hallways were ok but not pristine. Room was a little dark and a desk chair but no easy chair. Bathroom was clean and nicely appointed. Bed and pillows comfortable. Could hear planes taking off occasionally if you are sensitive to noise(didn’t seem bad). Shuttle very sluggish pick up at airport. Return shuttle ride was efficient. Breakfast was standard fare. Overall got a good nights sleep but not one of those Hamptons that shines on all levels

Positive: Free parking, size of room, location in close proximity to airport. Comfortable beds and pillows. Negative: Would be nice if fridge had freezer compartment.

Great experience for a quick, last-minute stay. Clean rooms, nice hot shower, no airport noise. Decent free breakfast buffet in the morning plus regular shuttles to and from the airport every 15 minutes. It made our unexpected stay in Detroit due to a canceled flight a little easier to handle.
