Sonesta San Jose - Milpitas

Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Very small though, and the curtains were torn. No microwave in the room. A few snacks downstairs were exorbitantly priced. Check-in staff person the first night was terrible. She was barely audible and not the least bit friendly or helpful. Second day, staff was adequate. The host at the restaurant for breakfast was also barely audible. Had on a mask and was speaking so low we could barely understand him. He was also not very helpful. When he brought us our bill for the breakfast, he actually sat the vinyl folder on top of my toast. My husband and I were sitting together and he brought us each a bill instead of putting us on the same tab. The waitress, however, was phenomenal. She was very helpful and so friendly. Not very good experience. Water temperature is not high enough for showering. Bathroom is not very clean.

Staff and downstairs area is very nice. The gym is all very well equipped with dumbbell pairs that go up to 75 lbs, plenty of cardio machines, and a cable functional trainer. Pool and hot tub also look nice. Negatives - laundry room has very limited capacity for such a large hotel (on the fifth floor, one set of washer / dryer). No microwaves either in the room or on the floor - you have to take the elevator down with your food. Finally, coffee machine was setup with no working outlet to plug into. It was basically a placeholder Keurig. Overall decent, but key minor amenities could be better.

Nice hotel, but every amenity costs. Breakfast, parking, $6 water in the room. Everything costs, which I haven't experienced at other Sonesta's. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. A little thread bare in places. Large parking lot, but not sure why it's $20 a night to park there. Had I known about the extra $ I probably would have stayed elsewhere as it quickly adds up. Walking distance across the street from a nice Asian market and variety of restaurants. Small mini fridge in rooms. No microwave. Coffee station. I'm not sure if I needed to ask but I also didn't get housekeeping on a Sunday - Friday stay. I just kept assuming "today was the day" and was too tired to deal with it when returning to my room. Despite your establishment's reputation, the services offered during my stay were far from satisfactory. The room was in an unhygienic condition and had various maintenance issues that reflected negligence. I encountered some specific issues as well. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, the air-conditioning was barely functioning, and the noise from the neighboring rooms was unbearable. Furthermore, the food I ordered from your restaurant was not only poorly cooked but also cold, affecting my dining experience to a considerable extent.
