Best Western Plus Brookside Inn

We stayed at this BW for 2 nights. Here are what I feel, Good 1. Wifi is great: it shows 65 to 90ish mbps on fast.com and this is fast enough to work remotely. 2. Breakfast is better than other BWs: there are more choices. Breakfast room looked luxury. Besides that, they have $30 cocktail (? not remember what kind it is) 3. Room is not small and there is a balcony. 4. A shopping center with groceries and restaurants is nearby. It only takes couple minutes walk. Recommend not go there at night because you need to cross a busy street with high traffic. 5. This BW is inexpensive. Bad 1. Sound insulation is not good: I guess mostly this is because of neighborhood guest. They were loud after 12am. I knocked on wall fiercely and yelled at them then they quiet down. 2. I stayed at this location in October 2023 on a work trip, and had a good experience, which is why I booked again for another work trip in Nov 2025, this time with 3 co-workers/friends (all of us women). I will NOT be booking at this BW location ever again.||||On the plus side: the breakfast is great, WiFi is good, rooms are well-equipped, amenities are decent, and the kitchen and cleaning staff very pleasant.||||Now onto the minuses, which far outweighed the positives. The night I checked in, I found a man's socks and underwear rolled up in a bundle underneath a stool in my room, which was disconcerting, to say the least. This place has really great customer service my AC unit didn't work. I called the front desk they were quick fast and very knowledgeable and respectful. and got my AC unit up and running within seconds

I like the convenience of walking distance shops and food. Easy check in (weekday), colours are nice inside and outside of building, room is clean, pillows and bed is firm and great breakfast selections. What I didn’t like is the smell in the hallway, the carpet in the hallway and in the bedroom. That was a turnoff for me plus, I saw how easy it is to enter the lounge from the outside without checking at the front desk- lacks security, since I saw a staff member hug someone from what seems to be non hotel guests and were able to eat breakfast. That same staff person asked me my room number but did not ask the couple that came in from outside. I find that appalling. So I’m a bit skeptical of this hotel.
