Royal Inn Motel

Rooms were clean. No roaches. Good water pressure. Comfy king mattress.Good ac/heater unit. Wifi and TV. But I also learned, during the course of the night, there was someone living underneath the room in an apartment. An apartment underneath my motel room, yes you read that correctly. And of course, they were up until 3am living life. I guess I have a new question to ask when checking into family motels... Btw, No refunds provided.

I got a good rate for the room without a coupon or any type of discount. The room was basic with cable, WiFi and micro fridge. Everything worked well enough and the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot. The room was quite dated and showed the age.

What an appalling experience. I arrived at 12 midnight after a UVA football game and the man behind the glass turned me away because I arrived after 10 pm. He angrily insisted that I “check the reservation” over and over until I finally just gave up and left. The turn away was bad enough but the dismissive and high-handed way he handled it somehow made it worse. Stay away from this property. Terrible policies and extraordinarily rude people. I wish I could rate lower.

Took food to someone in need. These rooms definitely need to be upgraded. I did not stay long nor did I sit. Unclean and sketchy people walking around! Helping the person find a better location.

The place is a very quiet place .The owner is a very nice guy. .He will help you with anything that you need .The staff is very nice too . Very pleased .
