Grey Pine Lodge

This is a roadside motel concept, set against a hill on the side of the hwy. We went in the winter so it was pretty empty but the walls are super thin and you can hear everything from your neighbors. In the plus side, the fan in the room can stay on “constant fan”, the showers are strong and rain shower head, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable - felt new. The rest of the place was very basic. Definitely a 1 night kind of place

beautiful location and nicely decorated room, but no hot water for a shower. i ran the shower for fifteen minutes straight and still freezing cold water 😞 this place was way too expensive to not be able to have a warm shower. also the tv didn’t work, but that wasn’t as big of a deal as the hot shower thing. their service is also a bit mia since no one is here on the property. you can only contact someone via text or a phone call. additionally, you must book online, which is fine once you know about that. but when you have an issue like no hot water and you simply get a text response saying, “You are the only guest for the night, so it may take a bit for the heater to catch up,” well, that’s a bit frustrating especially for the price.

Amazing location right near the BRPW and Shenandoah NP! The motel is definitely cute, and the fire pits and common picnic areas are a nice touch. There is no front desk or staff member on site, so all questions go through their call/text line. My biggest gripe is that there are very bright light right outside of the room, and the curtains are nowhere near enough to block it out. It looked like it was about 7pm in our room all night. I totally understand the need for the light, but either A. invest in actual blackout curtains, or B. dim them after 10pm. It did look like our room (101) was positioned to be most impacted by the lights (one right outside both of our windows). I remember when this hotel used to be the old one before they remodeled and new owners took over and I will say it is so much better. Very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed my stay!

Had a bit of a mix-up on arrival. Called the number provided and the manager/owner was extremely helpful - great customer service. It is a very cute motel - clean, easy access. Would definitely stay there again. All in all a great trip!
