Red Roof Inn Lansing West - MSU

If you stay here bring some extra pillows, blankets and toiletries to make it more comfortable. Rooms are bare bones and the walls are thin. You can hear adjacent rooms very clearly so if they snore or talk on the phone you will hear everything. The staff is nice though and there are a lot of places nearby to eat including a very nice farm market

Positive: Price & location Negative: The parking lot had lots of garbage, the room smelled like weed, the place seemed run down

The only thing good about this motel was the location, the first room they gave us almost knocked me out smelling like bleach, but it wasnt cleaned which is crazy with the fumes. There was smears on the fridge and table under the TV. The bathroom floor was soaking wet and there was hair everywhere. We went back to the front desk, and the lady says my mistake and didn't explain but changed us to a different room. Slightly less gross ,smelled of stale smoke and had a torn up leather chair. Small tv, also its next to horrocks on weekends they have live loud bands play until 10pm. Its very annoying. Over all felt unsafe and grossed out

Possibly the worst hotel experience ever. The room was filthy. Smelled bad. Once we arrived we were told all rooms are "EXTREMELY pet friendly." (We have severe per allergies.) But I wouldn't stay there with a pet, either. Really rough looking residents. I didn't realize what type of hotel it was when I booked it through Hopper. Strong cannabis smell permeating the area. The person at the front desk was very understanding and helped us with our refund. Obviously most of these positive reviews are fake, which is sad because that's what encouraged me to book with them.

The room... was not the cleanest yet not the dirtiest. I found one roach but that is common for buildings where people live there. The phone was not even connected and covered in sticky stuff i assume is from bugs.. but not sure. The floors were sticky and had not been cleaned but the fridge microwave bathroom, sink and beds were clean. Pillows are paper thin, we got a chuckle over that! The staff that was working when we arrived was a hoot to talk to! Morning staff.... different story. Maybe they were not awoke yet... the ice room....I would not trust it. I walked in and out. Bugs and oven hot temps inside, fairly sure the machine had not been cleaned for a while. I normally drink coffee in the morning but... the inside of the coffee pot was questionable.
