Hyatt House Lansing / University Area

The older front desk lady with grey and brunette hair is condescending and the younger brunette man with a slight stubble was not quite helpful as well, both were passive aggressive and made us extremely uncomfortable. The older one rolled her eyes and was also extremely rude on the phone. They didn’t tell us where our room is, which tells me that they don’t seem to know the basics of hospitality. I have stayed in many Hyatt hotels and this seems to be the worst one with the customer service. Other staff were nice and welcoming, especially the young lady on the other side of the building by the bar, just two bad apples ruined it. Also after reading other reviews it seems like I’m not the only one who experience unhelpful, rude staff, so be cautious.

We stayed at this Hyatt House location for 5 nights, I was traveling with my husband and 2 month old infant. We were in Lansing to visit family/friends. We are world of Hyatt loyalists with globalist status as we appreciate the Hyatt loyalist rewards, consistency and product associate with Hyatt. We specifically booked this property in a “suite” to have a full kitchen as I am breastfeeding/pumping so I needed access to a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and sink. The room itself was nice and clean, the location is great by the MSU campus. We got checked in efficiently and were pleased. After that it went downhill for the remainder of our stay. The hotel and suite was excellent! We had a one bedroom, 2 Queen corner suite for 3 days. The suite was spacious and fairly well appointed. Easy for us to drive to Michigan State Campus for hockey. ||||The breakfast was lacking the weekend we stayed - ran out of food all the time; too replenish was slow; very limited compared to other Hyatt's; very disappointed on the breakfast. ||||Outdoor Lounge and BBQ area - was great; the hotel could spend some time daily cleaning the BBQ and counters adjacent to the BBQ. Kind of dirty!||||Hotel staff was courteous and helpful.||||Parking - you can pay for parking in a parking lot across from the hotel or park on the street for 2 hours during the day for free and all night. ||||Lovely area - restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream.
