Candlewood Suites East Lansing by IHG

Mom had run into an issue and was getting the run around from price line and her credit card company. Thankfully the manager at Candlewood Suites Brittany was more than helpful and willing to go above and beyond helping rectify everything. Nice rooms, good location, and good service! When mom goes back to visit her granddaughter she we will be dealing with Candlewood Suites directly and have a great experience.

I booked a queen suite and it was very comfortable. Shout out to Barry who worked the front desk, he was incredibly kind and so helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The air conditioner/heater unit worked great and wasn't rattling or noisy at all. It does feature a continuous fan option which I love cause I need white noise and it worked great. Bathroom was clean and everything worked as intended. Room was spacious for 1 person, and would still be for 2 people. For the price I was very happy. I did travel solo and felt very safe.

The hotel was booked for me by the University. It was a decent room and I appreciated having a small equipped kitchen. I did have 2 bugs while there. Some kind of June Bug or flying beetle. The room was a bit dated but comfortable enough. Please not that it is not really in walking distance to any shops or restaurants. They do have a small store with convenience foods and beverages in the lobby. Check in staff was nice. When I called back later about an erroneous charge, no one retuned my call.

My overall experience was great. Very clean and comfortable. Small televisions. Limited cable type options. I was a bit surprised when I was charged an additional $100 for “potential incidentals” such as food or beverages. I did not appreciate that at all and prefer to pay for what I want or need rather than assuming these items would be purchased there. I was also surprised to learn there is no breakfast included. Not even a basic continental style. It was quite disappointing and the sole reason I would only recommend staying there with caution. I was in room 305 which is one of the furthest from the lobby and had quite a walk just to get actual creamer for my coffee. The coffee in the lobby is phenomenal. Local convenience stores are over 2 miles from this location so be sure to get what

Had a super long weekend! Especially Friday was the longest! Even though I didn’t come very prepared since I really don’t leave my house ever! The staff was patient, wonderful to work with and got my room situated smoothly. Thank you for all your help!
