Red Roof Inn Florence - Civic Center

I've been here more than a few times on my travels. Excellent for the price!! No bells or whistles. (we got a room with no fridge or microwave, but they do have them in the more expensive rooms) Just needed a bed to sleep in and a shower to wash up. Families checking in and the night was peaceful, so it was perfect for us. For less than a hundred bucks a night, you can't beat it. And the ppl who run it work very hard to keep it clean and affordable.

Positive: "" Negative: The first room (209) they put is us in had beg bugs crawling all over the back side of the mattress. The carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in a month with food crumbs scattered everywhere along with bottles and a champagne cork under the bed.

We needed a room with a microwave and fridge. Took a handicapped room which was fine by us. Opened the door and it reeked of cigarettes. Noticed the smoke alarm was removed and inside the fridge (guess the smokers didn’t want the alarm to go off). Was only for one night on our way to Florida so we put up with it. It didn’t end there. Mattress was sagging in the middle, mold around the bathtub, crumbs in the microwave. I will say the wifi was very good and the front desk people were accommodating and friendly. Also there was no soap, no nothing. Will not go back.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly! I had the flu when I stopped here, and they made sure to put me in a room near the office, brought me hot water for tea, and just generally kept an eye on me. I appreciate simple human kindness, and will stay here again next time I come to town!

The room was spacious. But they gave us a room that had a backed up toilet and when I tried to call the front desk. Found out the phones don't work. So the clerk at the front desk ended up giving me a plunger which was useless. The bed was like sleeping on concrete as well. Told the front clerk in the morning and she blew me off like it was no big deal. Definitely won't be back nor would I recommend this place if you want a good night's rest
