Quality Inn Horseheads

I stayed in this low-quality hotel a couple of months ago. This was one of my most awful experiences at a hotel. The shower was defective and shower drain was completely clogged, which were fixed the second day. However, there were a couple of other issues; on the third day when we wanted to checkout, we noticed there were some particles on bed sheets similar to insect droppings or casings, possibly from bed bugs or another type of household pest. I took a picture and showed it at the front desk. They came to the room, but didn’t accept that those are insect droppings. They said they look like cornflakes, but we hadn’t eaten anything in the room. They were clearly insect droppings. The Quality Inn was very clean and the staff was very informative and assisted me in adjusting my reservation when my plans had to change. The room was clean, bed linens were fresh, lighting was fine, television and refrigerator were clean and worked fine, and the room was well supplied with towels, iron, soap / shampoo, coffee/tea, etc. Motel and room security were fine. The free breakfast was a plus.

Positive: Location and staff were pleasant Negative: $50 Non refundable deposit for each pet- while a deposit is understood I believe at least half of it should be refunded (paid $100 for two well behaved pets) if nothing has been ruined- especially given the out dated quality of the rooms.

We traveled as a family of 4 from Canada to NY state for a weekend to visit the Watkins Glen Park and the Corning Glass Museum. This hotel has mixed reviews, so we took a chance to book a room because it was one the very few accommodation options which was on the affordable side in the area. The room and bathroom were both clean. The interior, along with AC and heat unit, is all VERY dated - think 1980s. No idea if utilities worked properly as we visited in September and the weather was nice. The fridge in the room was quite loud. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The sink in the bathroom was rather wobbly and I always felt like it would end up in my hand whenever I turned it on and off. Positive: The pillows and fed were surprisingly really comfy. I loved the waffle maker at breakfast! Older hotel, but great location and clean and comfy for the price. It’s great. Negative: ""
