Candlewood Suites Horseheads - Elmira by IHG

Not a huge deal, but when we opened the door and turned on the kitchen light, it was displaying a light show. Blinking and flickering. I turned it off only to find that the room was simply to dark without it because the only other lighting was lamps. No other ceiling lights. So not even 18 minutes into our getting there, I reported it and they said they'd have maintenance come fix it. It never got fixed. So in order to have lighting of any sorts, we had to live with the constant flickering of this light. Ya'll may think its no big deal, but it was horrible for us being the only proper ceiling light that gave any good type of lighting. I use this Motel often. No more! Yes, over a simple light, im done with them!

The room was excellent, clean, convenient, with fridge and cooking facilities if needed. The staff were excellent, front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Room staff were outstandingly friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable, the HVAC worked properly and silently. Price was good. Excellent place to stay

Positive: The room was wonderful, big, clean and well maintained Negative: I like a breakfast. There was one coffee maker and a line for it in the morning. Good coffee, but SLOW.

This is the kind of hotel you would stay a few days in … small kitchens for cooking. We only stayed one night on our way through and it had everything we needed … clean room, comfy bed and pillows, plenty of towels and ability to do laundry, which we needed after a week on the road. The staff is amazing and the location is great. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The rooms were nice. But, we had small ants on the 3rd floor and we did not have any food present. When I brought it to the service desk's attention, I was told that since they are considered a long term stay hotel, it's hard to control the cleanliness of other guests. They don't clean rooms daily. They gave us ant traps and spray. Unreal!
